RFK Jr. Has His Kristi Noem Moment.
RFK, Jr. may be having his Kristi Noem moment: if America is wise enough to pay attention. This project was created to ensure that the damage done to Kristi Noem's political career by her confession to killing a dog and a goat in her memoir is permanent. It's already been costly for the South Dakota governor, with the incident costing her any chance of making it onto the ticket alongside Donald Trump and earning her bipartisan criticism.
Now, RFK Jr. may be having his Kristi Noem moment. Noem's damage came not only from the murder of Cricket, but from simultaneous controversies that included her being banned from all tribal land in the state and revelations of an extramarital affair with political operative Corey Lewandowski, among other things. Kennedy's campaign has been bizarre from the get-go. After faring poorly in the Democratic primary and deciding to run as an independent, a new alarming or bizarre story about him has come out virtually every week.
The former heroin addict and present-day conspiracy theorist used the Nazi code "1488" in a tweet, revealed that he had had brain worms, listed his foreclosed New York home as his voting address, had nearly the entirety of his family endorse President Biden, came out in support of January 6th insurrectionists, repeatedly changed his position on access to reproductive healthcare, and more. This month added two new controversies to what is already arguably the longest list of any presidential candidate in modern history next to Donald Trump.
First came the revelations of sexual assault. I say revelations and not allegations because Kennedy admitted he is "not a church boy" and sent an APOLOGY TEXT to the woman who accused him of the assault that occurred while she was a babysitter for Kennedy. Apparently, however, sexual assault is not a disqualifying element for a presidential candidate. Donald Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and has appeared some 70 times in flight logs for his friend, Jeffrey Epstein. However, out of Kennedy, Trump, and Biden, the media has only called on Biden to drop out of the race.
The second and much more bizarre story was an allegation that Kennedy ate a dog while on a trip to Asia. I'm not sure what is worse, honestly: what Kristi Noem did or what RFK Jr. is alleged to have done. The murder of Cricket and a family goat was cruelty manifested plainly, and yet something about grilling and eating man's best friend has always given serial killer vibes to the average person. Kennedy came out to deny this allegation (rather than the rape allegation) and said that the animal he was pictured eating in Vanity Fair was a goat, not a dog.
We live in a seriously twisted timeline, and there's a sort of morbid humor in this level of irony. Kristi Noem's political career was destroyed when she admitted to killing both a dog and a goat, and now, an independent presidential candidate has denied eating a dog while admitting to eating a goat. There's only one way to defeat this madness once and for all: donate to and vote for President Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot this November.
